Being held as part of Kensington and Chelsea Open Studios 30 artists open their homes and studios to the public www.kfopenstudios.co.uk Free entry to all venues
For the first time, the V&A, in partnership with RIBA and supported by RBKC, is staging a community-based artist residency. The studio is in North Kensington overlooking the Bramley Road building site directly opposite Latimer Road tube station. Constantine Gras will be staging a programme of activities, both locally and in the Museum, around themes connected to architecture, regeneration and housing.
Constantine's studio is a 1960s council flat that will become a a new housing development in early 2015.
Do you have a memory or an object from the 1960s or 1970s that you might like to share at the open studio day? I'm also interested in any memories of social housing from this period. Please contact me. It would be great to incorporate this into the event.
